This game is not like other games. Here are the ten reasons why you might hate it:

   1. The graphics are not pre-rendered like on an X-box, or neat like on a cartoon.
   2. The graphical style changes in different parts of the game.
   3. There is no voice over - you have to READ everything.
   4. Fun is NOT the top priority. Depth is. Fun is (hopefully) a by-product.
   5. There are no twio dimensional villains and there is no scoring system.
   6. It's Les Miserables. Some people don't like Les Miserables.
   7. It's also sci-fi and fantasy. Some people don't like those.
   8. It deals with philosophy, religion and politics - bound to offend some people.
   9. It deals with serious topics.
  10. It runs at 640 x 480 - with banding and no anti-aliasing! So 1980s!

And here are ten reasons why you just might love it:

   1. It's Les Miserables.
   2. It's sci-fi and fantasy.
   3. It's a pure old school Adventure Game.
   4. It's challenging and mind expanding. It has depth.
   5. It's big: its good value for money.
   6. It should work on your computer. No codecs, no special graphics card.
   7. It has interesting characters. Not just the usual heroes and stereotypes.
   8. You can explore a vast universe.
   9. The art is based on photos, giving it a unique kind of reality and quirkiness.
  10. It has a future that you can influence. If you play it and don't like it, tell me why, and maybe the next release will have something you like. The game will be revised and expanded every six months. I won't give up until you love it!

But is it fun?

If you just enjoy Les Miserables this game will be fun. If you just enjoy puzzle based games this will be fun.

Do the topics sound too serious? This game is a lot lighter and more relaxed than most games. Have you looked at a games magazine or walked into a games store recently? Everything is dark, mean, violent, brooding, heavy, constrained. Games about killing, games about winning races, games about controlling empires. They take themselves so seriously. If you take a really big long view of life then a lot of things that seem deadly serious become quite unimportant and even funny. In a Python or Pratchett kind of way. Compared with most games, this one is light, open, free, easy, friendly.

Some people have fun shooting and fighting and racing around. But those games get old real fast. If you want a game that eats at you and calls you back, maybe this game is for you.
