Frequently Asked Questions
Les Miserables: the game of the book is a labor of love by me, Chris Tolworthy. But I couldn't do it without the generous help of a host of other people. In most cases (except when they've been dead for a hundred years) they retain copyright over their work and have kindly allowed me to use it.

Full credits and copyrights
Full credits will be in the game. The start page has a list and menu of who did what. Also, you can press 'C' at any time in the game to see copyright details for the pictures and music used on that screen.

The story
The story is of course by Vicor Hugo. Later versions of the game will include other classic novels by other authors.

The music
Title music is from Chris Worth Productions, choral music is from royalty-free-classical-music.org, original music is principally composed by Matt Hartman (it's beautiful stuff - part of the reason for changing all the graphics was to try to do justice to the music). Other sources will be credited in the game itself.

The art
The art is partly based on classic paintings that are now out of copyright (typically at least 120 years old), partly based on photographs taken by myself or licensed from storck photography libraries, and partly donated by generous photographers. There are too many to list here, but all will be listed at the start of the game and on screens where their art is used (press 'C' in the game for copyright details). Once again I must say a big thank you to all those who allowed me to use their art.

"Where's my stuff"?
This is a very long term project and will grow bigger with every release. So not everything will be in the first release. So if you have allowed me to use your art and it doesn't appear in the first version, fret not! It will be used eventually. My original plan was to squash a whole lot more into the first release, but that meant the art became degraded and that wasn't be good. So the new plan is to have the game world expand naturally without compromising on the art.
